What is a "contingent empty leg"?
An "empty leg" is when an airplane is flying empty on its way to pick up passengers or after dropping off passengers. If the passengers being picked up or dropped off cancel their plans, the entire charter flight is canceled, including the "empty leg". The "empty leg" is "contingent" upon the plans of others.
What is a "definite empty leg"?
Flight Maker will offer "Definite Empty Legs". "Definite Empty Legs" offer the attractive pricing of "Empty Legs" but are not contingent. With "Definite Empty Legs", once a match occurs, all matching parties have a scheduled flight that is not subject to cancellation.

How It Works - Selling Empty Legs
Selling Empty Legs
Even if you choose to use the entire airplane, we can help you reduce the cost of chartering by selling your empty legs ("dead heads") on our system. To use this service, you must be a member of Flight Maker and be using one of our approved charter operators. If you're using an operator and don't know if they are on our list of qualified operators, just call us. We'll tell you if they are on our approved list. If the operator is not on our list, we can arrange a charter flight for you with one of our operators and post the empty leg on our system. Our communication network will automatically notify all members who want to go where your empty leg is going. Flight Maker will sell the empty leg and send you a check. Flight Maker charges 10% of the revenue generated from the sale of empty legs where Flight Maker has earned a fee on the primary leg, and 20% of the revenue generated where Flight Maker earned no fee on the primary leg.
